Dear All,
After numerous requests during the past season, the Asian Yachting Circuit has announced its plan to introduce the use of "Endorsed" IRC certificates for the Racing Class across the major regattas for the 2009 season. The first being Koh Samui.
Due to a number of yachts not returning to their home bases during the season and the limited facilities available within the region. The Koh Samui Race Committee has discussed the situation with other regatta organisers, local IRC rule authorities and the UK IRC office and agreed that for Koh Samui Regatta 2009 we will remove the "Endorsed" certificate criteria for the Racing Class.
Valid 2009 non endorsed certificates are still required for all classes and an IRC measurer will now be available onsite for sail measurement etc.
An amended NOR will be published on the website this weekend along with a Provisional Class list.
Please remember "Endorsed" certificates will be required for the other major regattas in the region during 2009. Including, the Raja Muda and Phuket King's Cup and Koh Samui 2010 Regattas.
I look forward to seeing you all in Koh Samui.
Yours sincerely,
Simon James
Chairman of Race Committee
IRC Rule Authority - Thailand
