Just one week to go to the Regatta and here's what's happening on the island today.
First off a meeting with Andy at
Nikki Beach Samui to discuss the Regatta Party we are having on Wednesday. All is looking great, this is a party that is open to anyone on the Island and having been at their opening White Party I can vouch that these guys know how to throw a party:

(I may have had a couple of drinks before that photo...)
Nikki Beach is a great venue on the other side of the island, here are a couple of photos' from Sunday brunch here yesterday.

After Nikki Beach I went to check on the
Samui Emerald Development, one of our partners.
I also tested out our partner MapMyTracks. Finish this blog and then check out
this link to see my 15 minute journey along the top of the island upto the Samui Emerald and back again.
A quick lunch and then off to see John at
Kandaburi. This is where we are putting up the Press and some VIP guests. John has also made massive strides in making Kandaburi one of the Greenest hotels on the island and was also telling me about a project where hotels are working with schools to teach the concepts of sustainable business and tourism. Very cool.
After John I moved to Tradewinds to catch up with John Squall for update on the kids regatta and also Frankie and Simon James our Race Officer who proudly showed off the committee boat.

(You should see them when they're unhappy!)
The Committee Boat, from our partners The Mooring, will very shortly be viewable to all as well all the other yachts that are starting to arrive when our Webcam goes live, hopefully tomorrow.
After checking that out I met with our Audio and Visual partner, Tim from Marquee Asia and we checked out the area for screens at both Tradewinds, Centara and also, a back up venue at the Sports Bar afterwards.
Next stop was right next door at Centara where I met with the new GM Martin. This is Martin's first regatta but he already has a great handle on what will is needed to make it a great event and as is always the case with Centara, him and his team are doing a great job at getting everything ready. This is their first banner proudly displayed at the front:

Next stop was to meet with the Committee and the team at Dr Frogs where we were putting together the final touches of the VIP Champagne reception on Tuesday. All looking very good fun and I can't wait as it is a great chance to catch up with people early in the week. Tuesday is also the Dunlopillo race day which is a first for the regatta.
Next stop I'm heading onto Chaweng Beach to finalise our venue for the Friday evening bash. This one is currently a secret so check back for more soon.
After, that a few hours sleep and it all starts again. Great fun!
Don't forget to check the
Map My Tracks Link. Over the next few days you should be seeing plenty more of these...
